love.fund

For years Kevin's question was "how do we fund public goods?" Underneath it sat something deeper. Love is the deepest human emotion. How resources move is the foundation of civilization. What is the relationship between the two? Could the deepest thing we feel guide the most consequential thing we build? That exploration became a dialectic — fund what we love; love what we fund — and the wager that money could learn to flow the way lovingkindness flows.

This site is an invitation to be in that dialectic with Kevin. Wander the explorations, walk the flow, sit with the question — and then answer it. What you love, named in your own words, is the material this inquiry is made of.

love.fund is a living inquiry. It starts from a simple pair of questions: what if we could fund what we love — and love what we fund? The answers people send in become the site.

The inquiry moves in four phases. Phase 0 — ask: ask people what they love, in their own words, never from a menu. Phase 1 — build: make this site a living essay and practice. Phase 2 — experiment: run small experiments with real money — widening-circle grants, streaming gratitude, a love ledger, no-strings micro-grants — and watch what changes in the giver as much as the receiver. Phase 3 — synthesize: write down what carried and what deformed, and publish it honestly either way.

The landing page asks the question. Answers arrive as GitHub submissions, in your own words. The explorations are plain markdown files, rendered into these pages by a small build script. All of it lives in the open at github.com/owocki/love.fund.
